But in the recently released interview, the actor, who did not testify during the trial, reiterated his innocence and expressed his confusion over the verdict. “I’m there, and the verdict is given. I say, ‘How is this possible based on the evidence, based on the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is this possible?'” he recalled. “It’s been very, very, very hard and very difficult and confusing in many ways,” he added.

While Majors maintained that he “never laid a hand on a woman,” he did admit that his relationship with the British dancer was tumultuous and “unhealthy.” The two had met on the set of Majors’ latest project for Marvel, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” “I was careless with her heart [Jabbari], not with her body. (…) I loved Grace. Our relationship was not healthy, and that began to reveal itself over time,” Jonathan told reporter Lindsey Davis.

Revisiting the Fateful Night

During the interview, Jonathan gave his version of the events that unfolded on that fateful night in March 2023, in New York, when the altercation took place inside an SUV. According to his account, a disagreement spiraled out of control and escalated into a physical altercation after Jabbari noticed a “suggestive text message from another woman” on Majors’ phone.

“She went to grab the phone. I held onto the phone. I pulled the phone back. She came at me, squeezed my face, slapped me. That’s all I remember,” he declared. “I’m an athlete. I’m a sportsman. I know my body. I know how it moves. I know my strength, or lack thereof, you know? None of that was employed towards her,” he emphasized.

Majors claimed to have no knowledge of how Jabbari sustained her injuries, including a fractured finger and a cut behind her ear. “I would like to know. That would bring clarity. That would give me some kind of peace about it,” he insisted.

If given the chance to do things differently that night, Majors expressed regret over how he handled the situation. “I wouldn’t have grabbed her. I wouldn’t have put her back in the car. I wouldn’t have tried to keep her in the car. I would have gotten out of the car and run immediately,” he stated.

Defense of Jabbari Responds

In response to Majors’ statement, Grace Jabbari’s defense team released a statement of their own. Signed by Brittany Henderson, Jabbari’s lawyer, the text suggests that the actor is “continuing to evade responsibility for his actions” against his ex.

“His defamation of our jury system is no different than the above-the-law attitude he maintained throughout this legal process… The timing of these new statements demonstrates a clear lack of remorse for the actions he was found guilty of and should make the sentencing decisions quite straightforward for the court,” the statement read.
